During this process, I was flooded with memories of harvest seasons throughout my childhood. As my mind wandered I began contemplating how planting and harvesting seasons compares to the work we do with our students.
In many ways, the only difference is that at Northwest College we plant in the fall and harvest in the spring. Some students are late bloomers and require a little more TLC. Some students grow quickly, perhaps before we are quite ready. Regardless, the joy of watching them grow is beyond compare.
As my vegetable garden and the barley field next to my house await harvest and the morning light changes, I eagerly anticipate fall "planting season" at Northwest College.
