Please join me tomorrow (Thursday, October 8) at noon in observing a moment of silence in memory of the victims of last week's tragedy at Umpqua Community College.

Feel free to share this message and use #IamUCC on Twitter and Facebook.

As a community college president, I feel for everyone at Umpqua and in the community of Roseburg, Oregon. We join together in solitude against violence on our campuses.  As we take out our emergency plans to review campus policy and procedures, we need to also remember to take care of each other as we grieve. We are all one in these kind of tragedies - we all suffer.

Our hearts go out to the UCC faculty, staff, students and families during this difficult time.

Oh what a difference a a week makes

The weekend of September 18th I was in Jackson Hole for Leadership Wyoming where we had dinner outside at the Snake River Ranch. This past weekend I had dinner at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West's Annual Patron's Ball. Who knew that as a college president in Wyoming my wardrobe would require such diversity!
